Profile
I’m currently employed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada doing web and database programming.
I’ve learned a heck-of-a-lot about PHP, ASP, ColdFusion MX, MySQL, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, CSS and good coding in general through the projects I completed while employed at Camosun.
Camosun was an awesome environment to be able to develop and grown in. My coworkers and our managers were great too. I’ve been out of post secondary school since the winter of 2001. I have really enjoyed working in the higher education IT field over the past three and a half of years. I’ve certainly met a whole lot of very cool and bright people who are all geeks just like me.
Oh, I use “geek” as a common term, for anyone who is an IT professional, it just rolls off the tongue more easily then, something like “Dynamic Web Based Information Management Architect”… “geek” is just fine for me.
I’ve been honing my web development skills since the fall of 1999, and I feel that my technical skills have grown in leaps and bounds over the years and it’s pretty easy to flow between the different programming languages now that I am multilingual (ASP (vbscript), PHP and ColdFusion).
